Dax Shepard Shares Genius Parenting Hack Thought Up By Wife Kristen Bell

Dax Shepard Parenting

Dax Shephard and his wife Kristen Bell have famously kept their daughters, Lincoln and Delta, out of the spotlight. And while the public may not see pictures of the girls, it doesn’t mean they aren’t growing up behind the scenes. As children age, emotions tend to run high, more conflict arises, and it can be challenging for everyone in the home. He and Kristen do their best to be supportive parents whose daughters know they are loved and understood.

Dax Shepard And Kristen Bell’s Parenting Style Focuses On Communication

Dax recently told Good Morning America that anyone can call a family square when trouble arises.

“When there’s an issue in our house burbling up — we have 9 and 11-year-old little girls, they’re perfect. But issues do burble up, and people can call a family square. I think the key element is everyone has to sit on the floor,” he said. “I’m much larger than all of them so my wife is always reminding me, “Sure you’re talking in the same volume, but you are very high, and it’s very intimidating. So let’s get you on the ground.'”

Dax said that during family meetings, no one can interrupt, and everyone has a chance to air their grievances. He said that normally, things go pretty well. But everyone once in a while it can go on for a long time, Dax joked.

Dax Shepard is not sure if Kristen came up with the idea on her own or if it came from a parenting book, but he credits it to his wife. The pair have been married since 2013, and their parenting journey has been filled with challenges and excitement. He loves being a dad, and parenting with Kristen as his partner has been a dream.

“I have learned to be patient, which has really ended up transferring to my whole life, and I don’t know if I would have learned that without kids,” he said. “I just learned that I was very lucky, and that Kristen has proven to be — I already thought she would be an incredible mom, but she’s really off the charts. She couldn’t be a better mom. I’m so grateful that my children have her in their life.”
