The oil rig is freestanding in the middle of the ocean near some of the “best dive sites in the world.” The Seaventures Dive Rig is about 15 minutes from Sipadan Island in Malaysia. The oil rig dive site might be the only one of its kind. When the rig was decommissioned, it was converted to house divers and their gear. It is a unique opportunity for divers to have a completely immersive experience.
The oil rig looks almost like a houseboat on stilts. It has everything divers need for a several-day stay. On the upper deck is a lounge area where divers can relax at the end of the day or between dives.

The oil rig dive resort is super nice, but it pales compared to the sights divers see under the water. Divers can swim among a school of groupers that live in the area. A couple of clown fish skittering around the sea anemone they call home. The raw beauty of these underwater sights is breathtaking.

Seeing a giant sea turtle moseying along near the ocean floor is indescribable.

If you are a diver searching for adventure, check out the Seaventures Dive Rig. You can plan a few days on the oil rig and also plan dives from the myriad of nearby islands and the mainland.
