It’s a familiar sight among suburbanites across the country: glancing out the window in the early morning to see a deer lazily grazing on a patch of lawn. It feels almost as if you’ve somehow gained the trust of these shy creatures and they’re allowing just a quick glimpse into their worlds.

But three baby deer recently allowed one woman, Imgur user Amscolie, much more than a quick glimpse.
Amscolie is a wildlife rehabilitator, and she recently posted photos online along with a story about a recent encounter with three fawns that she’d been caring for.
Read her account below:
“Recently, the back door was open as a storm was coming. The deer were nowhere to be found.”

“Went inside, was heading to the front door, only to see them next to an end table in the living room.”

“Told them they could sleep in the house for the night because it was going to be nasty.”

By taking the time to care for these little ones, “Amscolie”had obviously created a bond with these babies and an understanding that no harm would come to them when they needed an emergency shelter.

While she was no doubt surprised to find three fawns had snuck into her home, she was, of course, happy to let them stay.

As she put it, “How could you ever say no to a face like this?”
