You can order breaded octopus in some restaurants, but you may never encounter octo-bread. Sam, the bread magician at Anxious Fish Club in Belgium, is a true artist. Her simple slogan on Instagram is, “It doesn’t have to be perfect as long as it makes you happy.” And her artistic bread animal creations make us all smile.

Sam was born in the US and moved to Belgium after attending university in South Korea. As a teenager, she started the Anxious Fish Club blog and now concentrates on food and other things that bring her joy. The site contains recipes for her artistic creations and links to her social media accounts. If you enjoy her recipes, you can buy her a cup of coffee on Ko-fi. The young artist stays busy creating recipes, working on a cookbook, and making new bread animals.

The bread magician is generous in sharing her techniques and recipes. She includes a wide variety of instructional videos with pointers and tips. Her basic bread recipe is easy to prepare. The shaping is a matter of creativity. But don’t fret if you end up with a few fails. The bread will still taste great, even if it looks wonky!
