Demi appeared on the Drew Barrymore Show recently, and the pair shared sweet stories about Bruce. Drew recalled working with Bruce and Demi on Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle in 2003.
“I mean, I used to know him when he was a bartender at Cafe Central!” she added. “I’ve known him my whole life, too. How is he right now?”
Demi said, “Given the givens, he’s in a stable place.”
The Pair Remain Supportive Of Each Other’s Lives
Both Demi and Bruce remarried after their divorce, and Demi attended his 2009 wedding. The families combined and quarantined together in 2020 at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Demi said that even though they are no longer married and in each other’s daily lives, she still sees Bruce as much as she can.
“When I’m in LA, I go over every week, and I really treasure the time that we all share,” she added.
Bruce initially left his career in 2022 after his aphasia diagnosis, and his family shared it had progressed to dementia in 2023. He can no longer communicate, but the love remains.
Demi told Drew she’s encouraging their children to love their dad and care for him just as they always have.
“What I say to my kids is you meet them where they’re at. You don’t hold on to who they were or what you want them to be, but who they are in this moment,” Moore explained. “And from that, there is such beauty and joy and loving and sweetness.”
