Steve stood atop Mount Storm King at Olympic National Park, arms outstretched, absorbing the magnificence. There was a commotion in the air behind him. A large bird and a tiny songbird flew off a nearby tree. It looked like an aerial pursuit straight out of a nature documentary. Suddenly, the songbird perched on Steve’s outstretched hand like it was returning to its home. The larger bird flew off unsatisfied as Steve stood transfixed by his new friend.

When Steve posted this amazing encounter on Instagram, one commenter said, “Congratulations on becoming the newest Disney princess!” Just seconds before the songbird landed, he said, “Hello, do you wanna be friends with me?” to the camera. Steve could barely contain his screams of joy when the tiny bird landed. This is truly the stuff dreams are made of!
