Two men should win the Good Samaritan award after helping a distressed otter. They were on a dock enjoying their afternoon when an otter approached them. The animal was clearly distressed about something, so the men decided to follow it. It led them to a heartbreaking scene.

Distressed Otter Asks For Help
The otter seemed skittish and upset. It was scampering between posts and hiding under various objects, but it kept returning to the men. They felt it was asking for help, so they followed it.
As the otter raced down the dock, the two followed. The otter leaped into the water and began to swim towards a small crevice between the pier. There, they found what was causing the distress. Its mate had gotten trapped in a fishing net and was trapped.
The men acted quickly. One of the men opened the net and grabbed the otter’s mate by her hind feet. The otter seemed to know she needed their help, so she let the man pull her out of the water and place her back in the water.
Rescued Otter Returns The Kindness
Upon seeing his mate being returned to the water, the male otter actually opened his arms in excitement to welcome her back. As soon as she was free from the net, the previously tangled otter dove into the ocean, happy to be free.
Soon, she resurfaced, wrapped in her lover’s embrace. The two otters swam, hugging one another for a moment before seeming to swim off. The man was satisfied with a job well done, happy that he had reunited the pair.
He stood to leave the dock when he noticed movement in the water. The otter had returned with a special gift to thank the man for his kindness. As the otter got close to the dock, he placed a small rock that he had gotten under the water onto the pier for the man.
He used his little foot to push the rock on top of the dock, an offering to the kind-hearted man who helped his mate. Afterward, the pair could be seen floating on their backs and holding hands, so peaceful and happy.
We are so thankful that this little guy knew to ask for help and that this kind-hearted man could get the job done. When the adorable otter offered up his rock as a thank you, it warmed our hearts. It shows that a little kindness can go a long way.
