Dog Adorably “Demands” Live Music From Pianist Mom

Billy is a rescue dog who traveled from a Texas rescue to his adoptive home in Vancouver, Canada. His new family is teaching Billy to talk using a system of interactive buttons. Billy has two obvious favorite words: ” hungry ” and “music.” Hungry is self-explanatory. He’s a dog, and they’re eating machines. The dog has a very particular taste in music, though.

Billy prefers classical and orchestral music. He doesn’t like radio music, either. He wants his music live — all day, every day. His favorite musician is his mom, who plays classical works on the piano for the spoiled music aficionado. Billy signals her with play requests by tapping the piano bench or pawing near the foot pedals. If that doesn’t work, he goes to his word board and presses “music.”

Sometimes, the family invites a local string quartet to play for Billy to satisfy his desire for live orchestral music. Billy is being introduced to new instruments, which sometimes make weird sounds. The first time Billy heard a cello, he was a little surprised. It didn’t take him long to settle in and get comfortable. Always trying to make Billy feel special, they dressed him in a puppy tuxedo and took him to a Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra practice session. He loved it!

Billy is a mix of several breeds, including a German shepherd, husky, chow chow, Australian shepherd, and pittie. No one knows where he gets his taste for music from, but he certainly loves it. His owners have tried to give him piano lessons, but he never practices and prefers it when his mom plays for him.

Please share this with others who will appreciate this dog’s taste in music.
