Is there a full moon every single month? Yes. Do I still gaze up at the night sky every single time to admire it? Of course. And the one making an appearance tonight is sure to be no different. November’s full moon is known by many names, one of them being the full Beaver Moon.

According to the Farmer’s Almanac, the name was given because this particular full moon coincides with the time of year when beavers are almost done prepping for the winter. At this point, they’ve gathered enough food and are making their way into their shelters, ready for the long winter ahead.
Want to join me in admiring this celestial event? The magnificent Beaver Moon will begin to rise in the sky tonight at 3:48 p.m. EST and should be visible until tomorrow morning at 8:28 a.m. EST — because the sun will be setting a little less than two hours earlier, they’ll briefly be visible at the same time. I don’t know about you, but I love when that happens!
