Duck Runs Up To Woman Calling For Help — Group Of Strangers Come To The Rescue!

One man stands inside a storm grate while the other squats on the ground next to the opening, one hand helping push along two ducklings. Text on the image reads: ducking rescue brigade

As much fun as it is to admire adorable wildlife, most of the time, it’s best to do so from afar. This is something that Kelsey Autumn kept in mind while on a walk. At first, it was a peaceful day. But that quickly changed when she passed a duck. As much as she tried to avoid the bird, it seemed as though the duck felt threatened. Confused, Kelsey continued to do her best to stay out of her space. Soon enough, however, she realized that was the exact opposite of what this mama duck wanted!

While passing a storm drain, Kelsey heard chirping. Getting closer, she realized that the duck had stuck babies down there! So, mama duck wasn’t angry — she was simply desperate for help. Thankfully, she came to the right human. In no time, Kelsey made her way to nearby houses, searching for help to open the grate. As luck would have it, a few men were gathered in a nearby open garage, and they were happy to assist.

@kelsey.autumn While I was walking a duck was in the pathway, at first I was just trying to avoid the duck – thinking it thought I was coming after it. Then i heard chirping! There were twelve ducklings that fell down a storm drain! Thankfully with the help of some locals and a few crowbars we were able to free them! All ducklings were saved and returned safely to their mom 🙂 #ducklings #ducklingsrescue #ducksoftiktok #animalsoftiktok ♬ The Kite Live by Luisa Marion – Luisa Marion

“There were twelve ducklings that fell down a storm drain!” Kelsey reports in the caption of her viral video. “Thankfully with the help of some locals and a few crowbars we were able to free them! All ducklings were saved and returned safely to their mom.”

Frazzled Mama Duck Finds Helpful Humans to Free Her Stuck Babies

“[It’s] incredible to me that animals know that humans have the ability to help,” someone points out in the comments of Kelsey’s video. “Like she’s not asking a possum for assistance.”

“I feel like this is universal,” someone else shares. “Baby ducks in trouble? Where? Doesn’t matter if you’re a biker or a woman with a stroller those ducks are getting help.”
