Something’s strange in the Dancing With The Stars neighborhood. But it’s not DWTS fan faves Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten. They pair competed in a dance-off against Dwight Howard and Daniella Karagach during the “Halloween Nightmares” night. Once again, Ilona killed it on the dancefloor, but surprisingly, she confessed she’s not a huge Halloween fan.

Ilona Maher Took This “DWTS” Theme Seriously
Each of the DWTS dancers confessed their biggest Halloween nightmare, and for Ilona Maher, that’s being chased by a killed. Since that’s the plot of many horror films, it worked well for a Halloween-themed dance.
“For Halloween nightmares, I’m dancing as a psycho killer,” Ilona said during the show. “I’m not the biggest fan of Halloween, so I am facing my fears with this.”
Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten danced the tango for her dance and then took on DWTS competitors Dwight and Daniella with spooky cha-cha to the theme from Ghostbusters.
Ilona admitted, “I thought learning one dance was tough. Now two dances every week definitely takes a toll on you mentally and physically, but I’ve always enjoyed hard work, and I can feel myself getting better.”
Fans loved Ilona Maher’s performance during the DTWS Halloween episode.
One person wrote on YouTube, “Ilona did an actual cha-cha. Dwight didn’t. Those 3 points should have gone to Ilona. That said, I hope that Alan seeks some outside help from another choreographer to bring more creativity to his dances. They are technically good but they are lacking the wow factor.”
Another fan wrote, “Love these couples. Not the norm like most.”
Dwight won that round, but not everyone agreed with the judges. Like this person, “I’m surprised that Ilona lost to Dwight, who didn’t do the cha-cha-cha at all. How did the jury evaluate? P.S. I still don’t understand how he has been here for seven weeks with his dancing skills? And still gets high marks? In Ukraine, where I live and before the war, there was the same show, it would not have received more than 4. Moreover, it would have been relegated in the 3rd week.”
At the end of the night, Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten ended with a 24/10 after receiving an eight from each of the DTWS judges.
