Sometimes, our neighbors require a little extra patience. One man has been going viral on TikTok for his response to an elderly woman who has repeatedly asked him to turn off the lights in his backyard, claiming that they’re shining into her bedroom and keeping her awake. Police had already come to investigate her complaint, but found that the rope lights in question could not be disturbing her sleep. When the woman returned to complain yet again, her neighbor remained calm and respectful.
“We went through this before, sweetheart,” the man said to her. “The cops came and they looked at the rope lights. They said they’re not shining in your window.”
However, no matter how many times he explained the situation, the older woman remained convinced that his lights were keeping her up. He finally conceded and promised to turn the lights off at 10 p.m. He also invited her over to share some wine or a cup of coffee next time she’s feeling lonely!
