Emily Blunt became good friends with her Devil Wears Prada co-star Meryl Streep when the pair worked together in the early 2000s. When Emily married John Krasinski in 2010, Meryl was definitely on the guest list. She recently shared a funny story about her wedding celebration on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. Emily said that during their wedding week, she and John had boat rides for guests on Lake Como. Meryl Streep apparently wound up on a boat with Emily Blunt’s mother and mother-in-law, and things took a turn when the DJ started spinning tunes.

“He started playing ‘Mamma Mia,’ and my mom and John’s mom started ominously dancing towards Meryl,” Emily recalled.
Meryl Streep Felt a Bit Compelled to Dance at Emily Blunt’s Wedding
Emily Blunt went on to explain that Meryl Streep danced along with her mom and mother-in-law just as she did in the movie musical Mamma Mia. Emily confessed to Jimmy that Meryl wasn’t thrilled about the impromptu dance.
“She indulged them. But I said to her afterward, I was like, ‘What did you feel when they came for you?’ and she went, ‘I wanted to hurl myself into the lake,’ ” Emily recalled. “She did it! We have pictures of them all dancing together. It was amazing.”
Fans love Emily Blunt, and even though she has huge stars like Meryl Streep as her friends, she’s still the same person.
“Love this woman soooooo much still seriously unaffected by fame! Very grounded! Makes me proud,” a fan wrote.
