Four-Legged “Boxers” Give Jake Paul & Mike Tyson A Run For Their Money

Images show parts of the Jake Paul Mike Tyson boxing match with two cats having their own boxing match in the foreground.

This past weekend, boxing promotors brought us a prize fight the world anticipated with mixed emotions. Jake Paul (27) and Mike Tyson (58) faced off in the ring. The fight was broadcast on Netflix (sort of), and (some) viewers watched as the younger fighter dominated the match after the bell rang in the third round. The boxing match in their living room seemed much more captivating for one family.

Watching their two cats have their own boxing match on the TV stand was more entertaining than the match playing in the background. It was challenging to determine which cat was “Mike Tyson” and which was “Jake Paul.” But, alas, Mike made his signature move, and we knew instantly.

Oh no! Not the ear! Yes, sadly, the grey cat reverted to dirty tricks in an attempt to sway the match. It didn’t work, though; the two cats were up and back to bobbing and weaving while throwing ineffective jabs at one another.

Unlike the real Jake Paul and Mike Tyson bout, the cat match-up was pretty even. Each boxer threw similar punches, ducking and jabbing in unison. Once “Mike” had his signature move interrupted and “Jake” protected his ear, it ended in a draw.

The real boxing match did not have a similar end. Mike Tyson lost to the much younger Jake Paul in a points-based decision. For people watching it live, many expressed displeasure that Netflix had buffering issues, causing them to miss much of the actual action.

Fans were rooting for Mike Tyson to win and relive some of his old glory days. Tyson went undefeated in 37 matches until losing an upset in 1990 against Buster Douglas. Jake Paul is a YouTuber who has only been boxing since 2020 and has a record of 11-1. Tyson came out of retirement for the match after only fighting in exhibition matches since 2005.

The disclaimer at the bottom of the video proclaims, “The actions in this video are performed or supervised by professionals. Do not attempt.” We think the cats did it better after all the punches were thrown and the judges weighed in.
