In a heartwarming video on social media, a woman named Noelle shared how she and her friends staged a DIY premiere for the short film. They dressed up in black-tie attire, rolled out the red carpet, and even constructed a backdrop for photos with fake sponsors on it! Needless to say, the filmmaker was totally shocked by this nice prank.
“When your friend wants to have a casual get-together to premiere his short film, but you surprise him with the full red carpet treatment,” Noelle wrote over the footage.
In her caption, she added, “Make nice pranks a thing!!”
As soon as the man stepped onto the red carpet, everyone started applauding. One of his friends approached him with a microphone for a quick pre-movie interview.
“Who are you wearing?” she asked.
“Tigers,” he replied, looking down at the animal pattern on his shirt. “Lions. I don’t know.”
Here’s what the filmmaker had to say about this practical joke.
This wholesome “nice prank” has been getting a lot of views on social media — so many, in fact, that the filmmaker himself created a video in response. Chris Hamameh was so touched by what his friends did to support his foray into the movie business. He explained that, if he seemed a bit awkward during the premiere, it was only because he doesn’t usually love being the center of attention.
“There was a lot of talk in the comments about how supportive and wonderful my friends are, and I just wanted to double down on that because they really are the most beautiful people in the world,” he said. “I don’t know what I did to deserve them.”
We really could use more nice pranks in the world!
