Giant Runaway Pumpkin Swallows Police Officer Whole In Hilarious Dashcam Footage

Dashcam footage of a police officer approaching a massive Halloween pumpkin decoration. The officer holds up an arm to stop the decor from running into him

Spooky decorations are one of the best parts of Halloween. This year, we are seeing some particularly creative outdoor decor, including lit-up pumpkins that “sing” a Taylor Swift song. But as one family in Ohio learned, not all of our decorations want to stay in one place. Despite any efforts they may have put into securing a massive pumpkin in front of their home, this runaway pumpkin was determined to be free.

The massive, inflatable pumpkin did not simply escape. It went on a whole adventure! While this situation is certainly hilarious, the decor did find its way in the middle of the road. This is when the Ohio Bay Village Police got involved. As dashcam footage shows, one officer stayed in the car while the other got out to wrangle the pumpkin. This, as you will soon see in the video below, was not the best choice.

When the officer first approaches, it does not take long for the inflatable pumpkin to swallow him whole. In fact, this massive Halloween decor even starts to cover the cop car a bit. In the end, though, the officer has no trouble escaping. Plus, with the help of a second officer, they are able to safely return the pumpkin to its home.

Best of all, the Ohio Bay Village Police were quick to find this unique situation hilarious, noting on social media that “luckily, no officers (or pumpkins) were harmed during the event.”

“The silence is the funniest thing,” someone notes in the comment section, with another adding, “I would actually be terrified.”

“Imagine being in traffic,” a third person shares, “and finding out why and see this.”
