Bringing a foster pet home to meet your existing pets can be challenging. When Nacho’s mom brought home a new golden retriever foster dog, he acted a little silly. The rescue animal, leashed and calm at her new mom’s side, watched with concern as Nacho pawed on the sofa. The new animal looked up at her handler, and you could almost hear her say, “Is he always like this?”

Nacho is a typical golden retriever, and although the foster dog is also a golden, she appears much calmer. Nacho is also a rescue dog. He has his own TikTok page, but we’re pretty sure his human handles posting. Nacho’s reaction to the new foster dog was goofy, and very energetic. He bounced around on the couch and pawed at the sofa cover.

Seeing all the energy Nacho was displaying; the laid-back foster dog was unsure what was going on. She calmly looked up at Nacho’s mom, and her expression said everything.

Although we’re pretty sure the two dogs will be best friends in no time, this first awkward exchange is hilarious. I can feel empathy for the golden retriever foster dog. Nacho seems like a wild dog with no boundaries. In truth, Nacho is just excited to have a new playmate. He goes to daycare occasionally, so he plays well with others. He is an “only dog,” so he plays well by himself, too.

It is quite possible that having a golden retriever foster dog in the house for a while will calm Nacho. The highly energetic dog will have another friend to play with. On the other hand, being around Nacho might make the foster become overly energetic.
