This 90-year-old grandma was amazed when she met her granddaughter’s Great Dane for the very first time — mostly because she’d never encountered such a huge pooch! A dog mom on social media captured the sweetest footage of this interaction. Although Grandma was certainly surprised by the pup’s size, she wasn’t scared. In fact, she seemed really delighted to meet Lenny!

“How big is this dog?” the elderly woman asked, incredulous.
Then, she added, “I’ve never seen one that large!”
To the Great Dane’s credit, he was very well-behaved while Grandma marveled at him. He remained laying down the entire time, watching the elderly woman use her walker to get to her chair. A video of this adorable introduction has received over three million views on social media!
“Captured the silly moment Lenny had meeting my 90yo grandmother last year after adopting him,” the dog owner wrote in her caption. “She’s been struggling with dementia and Lenny was so calm and gentle and my grandmother loved him. I’ll hold this moment close with me for a long while.”
That’s one polite Great Dane!
Commenters were impressed with how conscientious this dog was while in the company of the elderly woman. It was almost like he knew he needed to be careful around her!

Unfortunately, Lenny’s mom explained in a later post that she didn’t have any more footage of her grandma interacting with the Great Dane. However, she did snap a precious photo of the pair, which she happily shared.
It’s so sweet that this dog owner wanted her Great Dane to meet her grandma. This visit seemed to make the elderly woman’s day!
