First, Great-grandma got to join the brides in a toast celebrating their marriage. Then, the pair peformed their romantic first dance, which she heartily applauded! However, the most special moment was probably when the elderly lady said a prayer over the couple’s wedding rings.
Sarah, the photographer who captured the ceremony, shared some adorable outtakes on social media. In her post, she included footage of the brides with their sweet great-grandma.
“Sobbed and then sobbed again making this,” wrote the creator in her caption.
Many commenters were really impressed at the affection and understanding between Great-grandma and the two brides.
“Just more proof that age is never an excuse to not accept people!!” wrote one user. “Cheers to your grandma for knowing what love is.”
“This is precious,” said another. “You made her entire life making her feel special like that and sharing your special day with her, too.”
However, it turns out that Great-grandma wasn’t the only elderly relative these brides chose to involve in their wedding. In the comments section, one of the two newlyweds revealed that her 89-year-old grandmother was her Maid of Honor.
What a wholesome way to begin a marriage! We know it meant the world to this great-grandma that the two brides went out of their way to celebrate with her.
