People Getting Off The Plane In Hawaii Get A Lei… But What Would Other States Give Visitors?

When you fly to Hawaii, welcoming committees greet you as you deplane and place a lei around your neck. The flower necklaces, or garlands, show love, friendship, and honor and symbolize the welcoming spirit. Mike, a curious young lad on TikTok, posited an interesting question. What would each state in the United States give visitors if everyone was greeted like they do in Hawaii?

Heading into the comments section offers a multitude of colorful suggestions. In Arizona, you get a sunburn as soon as you get off the plane. If you go to Oregon, you might be met with a pre-roll. It doesn’t say which state, but if you go to the northeast, you’ll get an iced coffee from Dunkin Donuts.

The state of Maine might offer up lobster rolls. In Vermont, I think you’d get some Bernie Sanders sweater mittens. Wisconsin gives visitors a cheese platter. Minnesota, a cold breeze, and green bean casserole are the order of the day.

Lousiana seems most hospitable, with a daiquiri and a plate of crawfish. In midwestern Iowa, they greet visitors with a slice of pizza from Casey’s General Store and Gas Station. New York and New Jersey seem to be the coupon capitals, offering nothing but a discount on something.

In the state of Tennessee, they give visitors a sweet tea in a mason jar. In North Carolina, they hand you a meal from Bojangles. You can choose between a baby alligator or a python in Florida. Visitors hit the jackpot in Pennsylvania with soft pretzels, a hoagie, and Yuengling beer.
