Heroes: Teens Spot Flaming Extension Cord & Jump In To Prevent House Fire

View from doorbell camera. Two men stand in someone's front lawn. One is approaching the front door, talking as he moves. The second is a bit behind his friend, peaking around to also speak. There's snow on the ground

For Tiara Miller, a recent Sunday started off like any other. But by the time she came back home, she discovered that something had happened to her outdoor Christmas decorations. From a distance, it wasn’t clear what had happened. But once she was able to get closer, it became obvious: There had been a fire.

Thankfully, the now unplugged extension cord received most of the damage. That and her sidewalk. Wanting to know details of what had happened, Tiara checked out footage from her Ring Doorbell camera. Here, she met the sweetest teens who helped prevent this minor fire from turning into one that burned her house down. Watch for yourself in the video below.

@hoperisesnews They were walking down a street in Buffalo, NY and saw an extension cord on fire 🔥 They ran over and unplugged all the cords before it could reach the window where the cord was leading from, preventing a potential house fire. They then left a sweet message on the Ring camera for the home owner. Simply amazing!! ❤️ UPDATE: The boys captured on camera are brothers and were found and thanked soon after 🥹👏🏾 #buffalony #wholesome #heroic #goodvibesonly #heroes #inspiration ♬ original sound – Kate Glaser

“We saw that the two young men left a really, really sweet message on how they just basically, pretty much saved the day for the home,” Tiara shares.

Selfless Teens Get Praise for Preventing a House Fire Due to Christmas Decor

Blown away by their life-changing act of kindness, Tiara shared the video on Facebook. Before long, it went viral. She was able to locate these two young men in a matter of 15 minutes. Since then, she’s been able to thank both 19-year-old Ronald Smith and 21-year-old Shaine Wate for saving the day.

“I’m appreciative for both of them, and I’ve since been in contact with both of the young men pretty much every day,” Tiara says. “I think some positivity needed to be shared, especially around the holidays and especially with younger people on the east side of Buffalo.”

Although Tiara has already thanked these teens, she isn’t quite done. In fact, she’s working on something that will show her appreciation even further. In the meanwhile, folks from all around the world are hailing them as the heroes they are! They truly are the embodiment of the Christmas spirit.
