On Halloween night in Orlando, folks gathered downtown for what they thought would be a night of celebration. Somewhere between 50,000 and 100,000 people showed up. They were looking forward to fun activities, including a contest for the best costumes. Tragically, the festivities in Orlando were cut short due to a mass shooting.

Orland Shooting Ends Quickly Thanks to Brave Police Officers Who Took Immediate Action
“They’re always trained, and they’re always ready to act,” Orlando Police Chief Eric Smith said during a press conference. “As soon as they heard the shots fired, none of the officers went the other way, they didn’t go with the crowd.”
We’re sad to report that at least two people were killed in this shooting. Six others were wounded and immediately taken to local hospitals. Thanks to the quick actions of these officers, there weren’t any more casualties.
“Most of them [the police officers] got a little cover between them, they started scanning to see what was going on and then they moved, they took action to keep everyone else safe and that’s what these officers do,” Eric continued, “and I’m very proud of them.”
