“He’s Been Writing Me Love Letters For 3 Years To Spell ‘Will You Marry Me'”

From a distance, a man and a woman sit outside and across from each other. He is down on one knee, smiling wide. She's sitting in a chair, one hand covering her mouth in shock. She's holding a large board that can't be seen very well in this image

There are tons of ways to propose to the love of your life. Some are more impromptu, like this California man’s proposal after the LA fires. On the contrary, others take time and lots of preparation, like this clever man who popped the question on Wheel of Fortune. Ian Corcoran, a man in San Diego, chose to go with the planning route.

The idea came to him when he was writing a love letter to his now fiancé, Jessica Geralis. The letter just so happened to start with a “W.” That was all he needed to realize that, if he wanted, he could spell out the sentence “will you marry me” with various letters over the years. The result? A collection of love letters that creates one of the most thoughtful proposals we’ve ever seen! Experience it for yourself in the viral video below.

To ensure the “will you marry me” parts of the letters stood out, Ian made them larger than the rest. This may have made you wonder, “How did Jessica not notice?” Well, turns out, the versions of the letters that Ian used in the proposal aren’t the originals.

Man’s Clever Use of Love Letters for This Wedding Proposal Took Literal Years to Prep

Thinking ahead, (six months into their relationship), Ian made copies of each letter: ones for Jessica and the others for their future proposal. In other words, this sweet guy truly gave thought to every single detail of this proposal years in advance.

“This is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen outside of a movie,” someone admits in reply to Jessica’s heartwarming video, with another person sharing, “I’m crying. The intention and planning. Girl, you are so rich in the thing that matters most, LOVE.”
