Hilarious Heartbreak: “My Dog Ever Since We Closed The Pool For The Winter”

Everyone experiences heartbreak. When it’s our children, we console them and try to improve it. No amount of comfort can ease the pain when it’s the family golden retriever. Tucker lives with his mom, Mrs. Budzyn, and his son, Todd. Although Todd enjoys a good swim, Tucker is the dog that misses it most when the pool gets closed for the winter.

Every day, through rain, sleet, snow, and darkness, the dog faithfully sits beside the pool, waiting. Any time permitted outside, he stands vigil, awaiting spring and the unveiling of his favorite toy. His sadness creates a palpable thickness in the air.

Most dogs enjoy swimming. Tucker is used to having the pool open, so it is heartbreaking when the cover keeps him out of his beloved water. He doesn’t understand that the frigid, icy water would be bad for him. No explaining that in human words will console him. So he sits. And he waits. He lays. And he waits. He paces. And he waits.

Not All Hope Is Lost…

To stave off the mid-winter depression that was engulfing her precious Tucker, Mrs. Budzyn tried something different. She rented an indoor saltwater pool. The pool is available through Bubble Puppy Swim and Playhouse, a doggie daycare and play facility. Tucker and Todd happily dove right in and had a blast.

There is no spoilage here. Nope. Of course, we jest; they are totally spoiled rotten. But look at the sheer joy they had in that pool. Running and jumping. Swimming. Playing with their toys. Those two animals are the happiest good bois on the planet at that moment!

You can follow this pair on Instagram. When spring gets here, there will be many more happy swim days.
