Sometimes you start a video and you expect one thing to happen … but what you see instead blows your mind! You’re left wondering, “How did they do that?” and you scramble to think of a logical explanation.

This is one of those videos.
A YouTuber named Leslie Hutchings shared an incredible video she filmed with a friend named Camila at the Hoover Dam. The two tried out something that’s since become known as the “Hoover Dam Water Experiment.”

In the video, Camila removes the lid from a water bottle and tips it sideways. As the liquid flows out, the viewer would naturally expect the water to flow down. Hello, gravity?
But that’s not what happens. At all!

Instead of exiting the bottle and flowing down, the water is sucked upwards!
The trippy video might make some people question reality, but there’s actually a pretty simple explanation for what’s happening. Apparently, the updraft at the bottom of the dam is so strong, that if anyone were to attempt to pour water, it would be blown upward rather than fall straight down.
