With a name like Butterballs, what more would you expect out of a horse? Most horses are content to stroll up front leisurely at feeding time. Not Butterballs. When she hears the truck pulling up, she puts herself in cheetah mode and hightails it to the front. I think this horse could have beaten Secretariat if there had been food at the finish line.

When the horse gets up near the food truck, she slides in like a professional stunt driver parallel parking a Lamborghini. From zero to sixty on the way in, and sixty to zero with a smooth spin and slide. That is a cool horse! Butterballs is Rachel’s favorite riding horse. The mare seems to have personality to spare, a good cut, and excellent reflexes. She might be the perfect ranch horse.
Rachel Shelton is a ranch girl. She owns some land, as well as horses, cattle, and goats. There may be one or more dogs. It is a dream life. While she takes care of the ranch and all the animals, Rachel finds time to write books and operate her online retail shop, Oreamnos Oddities. The store offers handmade Norse pagan products. She has been in business since 2017. The bones she sells and turns into decor items were all harvested from her property in Idaho’s mountains.
Not all of Rachel’s horses are food-driven like Butterballs. The rest seem to be calm and make excellent “meat bikes.”
