Huge Ice Storm Creates Beautiful But Eerie Wonderland

Michigan Ice Storm

It may be spring, but parts of the United States are doing their best to hold on to winter as long as possible. A brutal winter storm pelted Northern Michigan with snow and ice, creating a beautiful but extremely dangerous landscape. Even for northerners used to this kind of weather, many could not believe it when they looked out their windows. Several people shared a video of the Michigan ice storm on social media; the remnants are scary. Mlive Media Group shared a compilation video on TikTok with footage from several people. It includes fallen trees, downed power lines starting fires, and roads totally impassable because of icy conditions.

Someone commented, “I know it’s dangerous and has caused a lot of damage, but I also think seeing an icy world is so beautiful. It looks magical even. It’s a shame that it causes problems though.”

This person watched crews trying to help, “Endless line of lineman’s trucks heading north this afternoon through northern Indiana. Some from as far away as Appalachia!!”

Some Michigan Residents Became Stranded Because Of The Ice Storm

TikTok Alissa Doe shared footage from her home on Mackinac Island. She shared the video to show the after-effects of the giant Michigan ice storm. She said she didn’t even want to step off of her porch because of the amount of ice falling.

A concerned follower asked Alissa, “What do you do for food, medical …?”

She responded, “We have a medical clinic, grocery store, restaurants, banks, library…all of this stays open year round.”

Another person wrote, “It looks beautiful and tragic all at once. Stay safe.”

This follower shared his condolences, “So sorry.”

Alissa remained upbeat despite the ice storm in Michigan. She wrote, “Thanks! Warmer weather is on the way, I hope!”
