You can tell a lot about a person by how they act around their pets or animals. For granddaughter Grace, a simple interaction between her grandpa and his 18-year-old cat demonstrated pure love. The exchange took only a few seconds and involved no physical interaction. The message was pure and simple and said more than any words that could have been spoken.

The animal is struggling physically, and moving seems difficult. The cat wanders in front of Grace’s grandpa and sits, staring up at the man. The old man is focused elsewhere until he sees the beloved cat. As soon as he notices the cat, Grandpa becomes joyfully animated.

The grandpa smiles immediately and leans down toward the cat. He makes kissy faces and blows air kisses to the feline. The brief interaction displays the man’s unconditional love for the cat. This is his cat. They have comforted one another and continue to bring joy to each other in their waning years. In this short interaction, Grace got reassurance that love does exist.

We’ve explored the love between animals and their people in the past. Recently, when a grandma returned home after a weeks-long hospital stay, she greeted her cat Pickles with much love. It took a bit to coax Pickles out of his hiding spot, but the love was evident once the two were together.

Some people have a love-hate relationship with their animals. One grandma claims to hate her cat and wants to get rid of him whenever her grandson is around. However, when the grumpy grandma thinks no one is looking, she cuddles and loves on the cat. The grandson has posted several reels about her interactions with the cat.
