You can tell a lot about a person by how they act around their pets or animals. For granddaughter Grace, a simple interaction between her grandpa and his 18-year-old cat demonstrated pure love. The animal is struggling physically, and moving seems difficult. The cat wanders in front of Grace’s grandpa and sits, staring up at the man. The old man is focused elsewhere until he sees the beloved cat. As soon as he notices the cat, Grandpa becomes joyfully animated.
The grandpa smiles immediately and leans down toward the cat. He makes kissy faces and blows air kisses to the feline. The brief interaction displays the man’s unconditional love for the cat. This is his cat. They have comforted one another and continue to bring joy to each other in their waning years. In this short interaction, Grace got reassurance that love does exist.
