Every pet owner knows that the best way to get an animal to do something is to bribe them with food. So, when this duck mom wanted her feathered friends to look into the camera, she decided to tape some tasty peas to the device. It worked like a charm! She shared the resulting footage on social media, and it’s too hilarious for words.

Mom began the video by demonstrating just how much her ducks love peas. When she held one of these tiny, green morsels between her finger and thumb, one of her birds immediately started trying to pry it away from her! Once she’d established what coveted delicacies these vegetables were, the woman attached some of them to her camera.

What followed was a series of hilarious clips of birds waddling over one by one to inspect the device. Once each duck realized there were peas involved, they began pecking at the camera. This made for some pretty funny-looking close-ups!

However, there was one duck who didn’t seem all that interested in the peas. Either that, or they were too suspicious of the situation to get any closer. There appear to be a few shots of this hesitant bird staring into the camera and looking confused.

“Pistachio was like a deer in the headlights,” the duck’s owner wrote in the caption of her video.

Overall, though, we’d say this experiment was pretty successful! Commenters absolutely loved how this duck mom’s camera trick turned out.
