When Choreographer Phil Wright said, “I Think I Got Smoked,” during a dance battle, he was not wrong. The showdown happened at The Dance Awards 2022 reality show, held at the Venitian/Palazzo in Las Vegas. In the video below, the young dancer is Mariandrea Villegas, who is only 13. She continues dancing, with Phil Wright as her choreographer.

Mariandrea Villegas has been competing since she was 12 and has appeared on America’s Got Talent and The Jennifer Hudson Show. On the AGT stage, she wowed the audience and judges panel with a fiery dance to Atalia’s Nightmare. She didn’t move forward on AGT after that performance but is not done.

Mariandrea combines dance, gymnastics, and contortionism in a creative mix that showcases her talent. Much like the performance from Arshiya Sharma, Mariandrea’s dance left the audience wanting to see more. Perhaps these two teenagers should have a dance battle?

The Los Angeles native has been dancing for many years. She is a member of Epic Motion Dance Studio and hopes to become a professional dancer. She combines her talent with dedication and will see her dreams come true.

Mariandrea has performed and maintained a place near the top of the Teen category at The Dance Awards since 2021. Her dancing has appeared in several well-known magazines, and her determination fuels her desire to succeed. Nothing will keep this young lady from reaching her goals.
