Pet boutique Pablo & Co. shared a video on social media from Katherine’s pop-up booth at their store. During the artists’s visit, she produced her signature bad pet portraits for delighted customers. Her sign read, “I will draw your pet badly. $10.” However, these doodles were anything but bad — in fact, commenters online clamored for this artist to draw their pets next!
“They’re perfect I want one,” wrote one user.
Another added, “Waiting for the ‘badly’ part these are awesome!”
A third chimed in, “I NEED ONE.”
Well, we have some good news and some bad news. The good news is that Katherine accepts online orders for both physical and digital bad pet portraits! Unfortunately, the bad news is that her store is closed for the time being. However, she has promised to start accepting new orders sometime in 2025.
Bad Pet Portraiture, as Katherine calls this creative venture, has a pretty interesting backstory. According to her website, the artist was vending her wares at a Christmas market when she realized that her customers had completely cleaned her out! With nothing left to sell, Katherine had to get resourceful. So, she set up a sign with a now somewhat familiar slogan: “I will paint your pet (badly) for $5.” Who knew this offer would become so popular?
