Witney Carson’s and Danny Amendola’s Dedication Night lift took TikTok by storm. The graceful and gorgeous move featured Witney lying on the ground and Danny lifting her by her ankle. It looked easy enough. So, people around the world tried to recreate it. They rarely succeeded, but they had a fun time trying, which was true for Ilona and Alan.

In her own TikTok video, Ilona showed herself and Alan hilariously trying to pull off the lift. They both took turns rising from the floor. The two never figured out how Witney and Danny made it work, but they were beside themselves with laughter throughout the entire video.
“@Danny Amendola and @Witney Carson, we tip our hats to you,” Ilona wrote in the caption. “That was extremely difficult and you did it so effortlessly.”
“I’m was literally SO confident in both of you and then DYING after the first attempts you both did 😂😂😂😂,” a fan wrote in the comments.
“Once the laughing started, I knew it wasn’t gonna happen,” another person admitted.
Another fan shared that she tried the lift, too. And she knew first hand that it was impossible.
“Tried this, and I think my bf pulled my foot out from my ankle,” she wrote.
Witney and Danny earned the highest score of the night, thanks to that move. The judges gave them 35 out of 40 possible points. Now that fans and competitors have tried the lift for themselves, they understand why.
