At the beginning of her slideshow, Miranda showcased her mom’s old wedding photo and a few early family pictures. She wrote that, at the time, she planned to simply call her stepfather by his first name. As she compared his love to that of her biological dad, though, she realized that Paul was the one putting in real effort.

“I stopped seeing my dad at 12 years old…” the woman wrote in her post. “I guess I can call you Dad now.”

This beautiful tribute to Miranda’s stepdad continued as she listed all the kind things this man did for her over the years. For example, he supported her interests in music and horsemanship. Whenever she had a performance, he was there to cheer her on. When she needed equipment for horseback riding, he bought it for her.

As Miranda got older, her new dad was there for her through all of life’s big milestones. He purchased a beautiful prom dress for her, helped her move onto her college campus, and celebrated her decision to get engaged to the love of her life.

Sadly, this wonderful father passed away in Miranda’s adulthood. However, the bond she shared with Paul can never be erased. In her touching tribute to her stepdad, it’s clear that this guy made a big difference in her life! Although she’s grieving his death, at least she has many beautiful memories to treasure.
