7. Temperature Is Controlled By Moving The Top Section Up Or Down

to adjust the temperature in the Dymaxion House the cap shifts up or down. Opening the top allows more airflow, cooling the interior. Closing it keeps the house warmer. The circular design also works as a wind deflector. In 1964, the house deflected the winds from a tornado that passed within a few hundred yards.

8. R. Buckminster Fuller Appeared On A Postage Stamp

In 2004, the United States Postal Service honored Buckminster Fuller by putting his likeness on a 37-cent postage stamp. The image shows his face superimposed with a geodesic dome. While it is no longer in circulation, the stamps are available on eBay from various sellers. The going price for used versions is around a dollar, give or take. We found the version pictured above via seller 5bucks, who had earned a 100 percent positive feedback rating.
