“Enjoy 1 whole minute of my boyfriend introducing our two indoor cats to autumn leaves for the first time,” wrote the owner in her post.
In this heart-melting clip, the cats slowly approached the box full of autumn leaves and began sniffing around with interest. One of the kitties immediately tried nibbling on a few stems. However, Dad really wanted to see if the felines would start playing with the foliage. So, he started tossing handfuls into the air to get the animals’ attention. It totally worked! Before long, one of the cats was batting at the leaves and chasing them as they drifted to the ground.
Eventually, one of the kitties hopped right into the box to examine the leaves more closely. They looked way too cute standing in the pile of foliage, attempting to rifle through it with their paws.
“This is your sign to go get your indoor babies some leaves before the season is over,” Mom wrote in her caption.
Although this video is absolutely precious, some commenters couldn’t help but imagine how their own cats would respond to a box of leaves in the house. Unfortunately, many didn’t think the results would be quite as wholesome!
“My cats would immediately treat it like a litter box,” joked one user.
Another wrote, “My cat would attempt to eat every leaf then throw them up. I love this idea though!”
That’s probably why the cat owners in the video decided to bring the autumn leaves indoors instead of letting their pets out! At least this way, they were able to supervise the kitties and make sure they didn’t get into too much trouble.
