Instant Regret: Twin Toddlers Love Being Big Sisters Until…

Twin toddlers showing instant regret about becoming big sisters when the baby cries.

Twin toddlers Crimson and Scarlett wanted to be big sisters. They’d spent nine months watching mommy’s belly grow. It was the big day, and they were bringing the new baby home from the hospital. Everyone got strapped into their car seats. All was right with the world. The twins were happy to begin their new job as big sisters finally. And then baby Emby let out those first little wails.

The looks on the faces of the twin toddlers are unmistakable. Both girls silently say, “This is not what we signed up for.” Apparently, they missed the memo that crying was part of newborn life and being a big sister. But it’s all good. It’s been three years since this moment, and all three girls are thriving and enjoying their sisterhood. They happily rang in the new year.

As parents, you can never tell how sibling reactions will pan out. Most of the time, with young children, they adapt quickly to family additions. However, there may be a few moments of that “instant regret.” As with anything, it will pass. Twins will always have a special bond, even after growing beyond the toddler stage. Creating that sibling bond with non-twins can be challenging, but it is not impossible.

Mom Sara is raising her twin girls, Crimson and Scarlett, and their sister, Emby, to be loving and family-oriented. They participate in many family activities with total inclusion. At the same time, the twin girls also get plenty of twin time.

You can keep track of this fantastic little family by following them on Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. The three girls have a unique relationship and special bonding promoted by inclusive parenting.

Please share if you’ve had similar “instant regrets.”
