Are you ready to see something adorable? There’s a new penguin chick at the Indianapolis Zoo, and he’s definitely going to steal your heart! This little guy is so incredibly fuzzy, he almost looks more like a cute stuffed animal than an actual bird. However, we can assure you that he is 100% real. Just listen to him chirp!

In a video on social media, the Indianapolis Zoo shared some precious footage of the penguin chick waddling around indoors. He made the sweetest little sounds as he explored his surroundings with interest. At one point, he even flapped his flippers! Isn’t he absolutely darling?
“Meet Nio, whose name means ‘new beginnings,'” wrote the zoo in their caption. “Now at three months old, Nio is currently molting his soft downy feathers and growing juvenile feathers that are silvery grey in color and waterproof. After that he will begin learning how to swim. Once he can swim on his own, he will be out on exhibit.”
Well, that’s certainly good news!

Of course, even though Nio can’t be viewed by the public in person just yet, he’s already amassing quite the fanbase online. Hundreds of thousands of viewers have watched the zoo’s clip of this beautiful penguin chick uttering the tiniest chirps you’ve ever heard. Commenters are falling in love with the baby bird!
“PLSSS HE’S SO FUZZY AND SMALL I’M CRYING I WANT HIM,” one person wrote.
Another joked, “Whatever he said I agree with.”

We’re sure lots of people are looking forward to being able to visit this penguin chick at the Indianapolis Zoo as soon as he’s ready. In the meantime, we hope to see more content about Nio on social media!
