Not everyone likes snow. When Italian greyhound Bella has to go out in the snow, she dislikes the white stuff. The little dog performs amazingly complex acrobatics to avoid getting her little peeties wet.

The first few steps across the wet bricks are tentative. You can see that Bella doesn’t like “wet.” Her entire body shifts when she hits the first bit of snow that is sticking. Then you see that the little acrobat is only walking on her front paws! She prances around the yard on her front paws, keeping her rear paws out of the wet snow. It’s like she has practiced this maneuver.
Italian greyhounds don’t have a fur coat designed for snow. They are a short-haired breed. Their ultra-thin body style also offers very little fat for insulation. Italian greyhounds have the typical greyhound body structure; they are much more petite and elegant. Bella has a wide variety of winter attire and loves being a model.
These dogs are very affectionate and playful and make excellent companions. Their small size makes them great indoor dogs in smaller apartments or homes. Average sizes range from 13 to 15 inches tall at the shoulder; most adults weigh between 7 and 14 pounds.
They are greyhounds at heart, though, so their chasing instinct is strong. If your cat gets the zoomies, your little Italian greyhound will give chase (unless there is snow). They are family-oriented dogs and would be very content being a lapdog. With only moderate scores with young children (toddlers), they do well with older kids and other animals. They are energetic and require exercise, so hopefully you like walks.
Please share if you laughed at how Bella, the Italian greyhound, skillfully avoids snow.
