The comedian spoke with People ahead of the big event and shared that he’d just gone to the doctor because he’d been having elbow pain for about a year. It turns out Jimmy has just been happily greeting his fans for too long.

“[The doctor]  said, ‘I think you have golfer’s elbow’ and I was like, ‘There’s no way.’ I don’t really golf that much — I golf four, five times a year or something — I go. But maybe I think I got it from waving,” he said. “I think I got it from the waving on the float.”

“I think maybe the Queen [of England] has had this ailment,” Jimmy laughed. “I’m one of the few people that have wavers elbow, but I’ve had it for a year, and I still have it. It still hurts.”

Jimmy Fallon Has Been Part Of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade For A Decade

This year marks 10 years of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parades for Jimmy Fallon. He and The Roots are one of 28 major acts set to perform. Before he dazzles fans with his music, he’ll wave all the way to Herald Square.

“You can’t stop me from waving,” he joked. “When you see me waving this year, just know that I’m giving 110%. You don’t even have to wave back,” he continues. “I don’t care. It’s my job — in fact, I’d rather you not, I don’t want this to happen to anyone else.”

Jimmy Fallon and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will brighten the streets of New York City from 8:30 am to 11 am CT.
