“Just Another Awkward Night With My Boyfriend’s Territorial Girl Dog”

Image shows a territorial dog making life for her dad's girlfriend awkward.

Jennifer Nguyen has a boyfriend. Her boyfriend, Coda, has a dog. He’s had the dog longer than he’s had Jennifer, and the dog reminds her of that fact daily. To say that the dog makes things awkward might be a slight understatement. With every side-eye glance, the dog seems to say, “He is mine, and I’m not letting myself love you too.”

Notice the territorial paw on her Dad’s knee. Few humans have mastered the side-eye like this dog. Needless to say, the dog makes Jennifer feel awkward while interacting with Coda. We don’t know if the couple lives together, but the dog offers the same attitude when Jennifer is alone in the apartment.

No matter what the couple seems to be doing, the dog is right there, making Jennifer feel awkward. Coda gave Jennifer the most special Valentine’s Day on the planet. She captured it in a slide show you can view here. As you flip through the images, you will see that the dog even crashed that happy celebration. The dog is everywhere with that judgmental look.

Animals can be jealous of new humans. In this case, The dog has been with Coda for eight years. They have bonded. Other women may have been in and out of Coda’s life. When they leave after bonding, the dog might hesitate to bond again. The awkward looks and actions from Coda’s dog could be hesitation rather than jealousy.

Hopefully, Jennifer will be accepted by the dog in time, and the three will be happy together. Until then, she will keep getting judgmental stares and side-eye glances. It may be awkward now, but it should improve eventually.

Please share if you know a judgmental dog.
