Kansas Senior Suffers Without A/C For Months Until A Sweet Stranger Steps In.

Peggy Moore was living without air conditioning in her home.

Peggy Moore has been living without air conditioning for months. Temperatures inside her Kansas City home have reached 90 degrees, causing the 75-year-old to experience headaches and fatigue. Worse yet, she already paid someone $5,000 to fix the A/C unit — in February. Despite her many calls and texts begging the repairman to honor their contract, Peggy’s situation only got worse as the summer rolled in.

“I’m so hot, I can’t do anything, I can’t clean my house, I can’t do anything,” she said, reaching out to Fox 4 Problem Solvers in July. “I feel bad about it because this is not the way I live. This is not the way I keep my house.”

Shortly thereafter, Gregg Fowler — the repairman Peggy had paid — arrived on the scene, claiming not to have heard from the woman. He then told her that he had replaced her A/C unit. However, the temperature inside the house showed no signs of cooling down.

Thankfully, someone reached out through Fox 4 Problem Solvers to offer a helping hand. Harry Frame, from Service 1st Contractors, was more than willing to resolve Peggy’s issue without charging her a cent. This act of kindness didn’t just restore her air conditioning, but also her faith in humanity!

“I did a program last Saturday for senior citizens called somebody loves you and now I really believe in those words,” she told Fox 4 in a follow-up. “There are people in this world who are not meaning evil who care about you.”

Harry believes that more people should be helping each other the way that he helped Peggy.

“There is a lot of problems in the world these days so anybody can – that can reach out and just do a little good for somebody it needs to happen more often,” he said.
