Just a few hours before the show, Keith Urban gave notice to his fans that he would be performing at a Buc-ee’s in north Alabama. The free show was held Friday night in the parking iconic gas station’s parking lot. ABC News’s video shows Keith Urban’s surprise as a crowd that gathered.
“I swear to you,” he said, “I thought maybe 100, 200 people. This is why we got this little stage.”
Keith Urban goes on to describe how he came to this Buc-ee’s about a month ago, and it gave him the idea to put on a show there. While he expected a small crowd, the droves of people who showed up to support him truly astonished the performer.
Keith didn’t just perform at Buc-ee’s; he got involved with the community. ABC News shared that he became a part of the establishment during his visit. Their caption states:
“While he was at the story, Urban also worked behind a food counter. Another video showed him wearing a Buc-ee’s T-shirt and apron as he poured barbeque sauce on some brisket and chopped the meat into smaller pieces.”
