The kid called 911 because his mom ate his ice cream! He wanted her arrested and jailed for the offense. The mom had confessed while speaking with the dispatcher, saying, “I ate his ice cream, so that’s probably why he’s calling 911.” The responding officers calmly explained what arresting her would mean. The young man decided he wouldn’t press charges.

The officers took some time to talk to him about what an emergency was and when to call 911. Hopefully, he won’t make that mistake again. As for the ice cream the boy’s mom ate? The officers felt that it was tragic and wrong. To properly close out the investigation, the officers brought two scoops of ice cream with blue sprinkles and super big smiles two days later.
