Many people grow up hearing the Nativity Story every year on Christmas Eve. It’s a wonderful retelling of what many would call the real reason for the season and a great tradition to carry on. Last year, Southland Christian Church decided to ask their kids to retell the Nativity Story in their own words and then had their parents act out the scenes… the result was just too good not to share. An angel came to see Mary while she was doing laundry. Then the angel just appeared and she was really scared. Then Gabriel came to Mary and said, “You’re gonna have a berry… er… baby and you will call him Jesus.”

After Gabriel dropped a baby into Mary’s belly, he then went on to reassure Joseph that all was well for his future marriage prospects.

The kids then take us along the road to “Bethle-ha-ha-ham” to see if they could find some space at the inn. The kids weren’t too sure if the couple rode a donkey or a camel to Joseph’s hometown, but nonetheless, the duo made it just in time.

As the story goes, upon arriving in “Bethle-ha-ha-ham” Joseph and Mary tried to get a room at a hotel, but the manager told them “We have no rooms… literally no rooms.”

And it just gets better from there.
