Chris Ship shared on X, “After his sudden hospital visit yesterday, King Charles has just left Clarence House. He was seen in the back of the first car, with the window slightly down so people could see who it was. He’s heading out of London for the weekend.”

King Charles Is More Than A Year Into His Cancer Treatment Journey

Buckingham Palace decided to share the news about King Charles’ cancer in February 2024 to avoid speculation about his health. The king went to the hospital for an enlarged prostate procedure, and during his stay, doctors identified a separate form of cancer.

“The King is grateful to his medical team for their swift intervention, which was made possible thanks to his recent hospital procedure. He remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible.”

“His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope it may assist public understanding for all those around the world who are affected by cancer,” the palace added.

On March 27, Buckingham Palace released a statement from King Charles to the media, but not about cancer. Inseated, he remarked about his gratitude to those covering the news.

It said in part, “You won’t always get it right. A free media is one that will and does make mistakes. But at its best, it is a cornerstone of our democracy. I know how commercial pressures and changing technologies have had a significant impact on your industry. But as the media landscape has changed, so too many of you have adapted and innovated, finding ways of sharing your journalism and engaging audiences in new and creative ways. It is in everyone’s interests that you should succeed. For without a thriving and financially robust regional media, we would all be the poorer.”
