King Charles and Queen Camilla will change plans following the king’s recent health scare. Charles visited the hospital following an adverse reaction to chemotherapy treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer. Doctors cared for King Charles and released him from the hospital quickly. Following his return home, he reportedly made the difficult decision to lighten his royal load. According to Parade, following the brief hospitalization on March 26, King Charles canceled all public appearances through March 28. But it seems things might be more serious than the public realizes.

King Charles Also Canceled Plans With His Wife
An insider told The Sun that King Charles and Queen Camilla canceled plans to visit an African spa earlier this year. They also will not attend their annual trip to Romania this spring.
The insider said, “Charles is a hardworking King, but he needs and deserves occasional time off. It was unfortunate that he couldn’t fly with Camilla, as it was hoped they could have a well-earned break together. He adores Romania and looks forward to visiting every year. But it would have involved just too much walking and he can’t face it right now.”
King Charles still plans to attend a visit to Rome in April. He will not meet with Pope Francis following his own health struggles of late.
HELLO!’s Online Royal Correspondent Danielle Stacey said, “While we do not which type of cancer the King has, he has been incredibly transparent about his journey since his diagnosis over a year ago. He has kept up a busy schedule of engagements, including overseas travel, in the past 12 months and will continue with his duties as usual this week.”
Danielle added, “While his hospital observation last week may have seemed unsettling, a royal source did describe it as a ‘most minor bump in a road that is very much heading in the right direction.’ The King’s side effects have not been disclosed. But they are understood to be temporary and not uncommon with many medical treatments. It’s reassuring to know that next week’s state visit to Italy will go ahead as planned, and as he told fellow cancer patients in Northern Ireland, he is determined to ‘keep buggering on.'”
