A Labrador stands at the edge of a swimming pool.

Labrador retrievers famously love to swim, but one owner is beginning to think that his pup is enjoying the pool a little too much! Apparently, this adorably rambunctious pooch likes to show off her diving skills — while there are people in the water. In a hilarious video on social media, someone managed to capture this dog’s aquatic antics in action! Honestly, we could watch Ella the Lab peform her epic cannonball dive all day.

In the clip, the dog dad knew there was going to be trouble as soon as he noticed his Labrador retriever pacing by the edge of the pool. She clearly wanted to jump in among the humans, who were trying to enjoy a leisurely swim. Ella’s owner begged her not to dive into the water, but she was clearly already winding up for a huge leap.

While filming the hilarious conversation between this dog owner and his pup, another swimmer chimed in with a suggestion.

“Maybe say, ‘sit,'” he recommended.

It was too late, though. At that very moment, Ella sprang into the air — landing right on top of the cameraman with a huge splash! In the last seconds of the video, you can see the ominous footage of the dog’s belly headed straight for the lens. There was a pained grunt of surprise from the human as the airborne Labrador made impact, followed by a massive burst of water from the pool.

Accidental collision, or calculated attack?

This video has received over 40 million views on social media! Commenters thought the Labrador’s cannonball dive into the pool was way too funny. Many also thought it was no coincidence that Ella seemed to target the man who had suggested she “sit.”

“You didn’t say sit where…” joked one user.

Another said, “Famous last words ‘Maybe say sit?'”

Maybe this was an act of retaliation, or maybe the cameraman was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Either way, this video of a Labrador diving into the pool is precious!
