When dance partners, Lexie Joinson and Christopher Buttle, met online a couple years back, she was so convinced that they’d get married one day that she made the bold step of announcing it to an international audience.

And maybe that jinxed the whole thing, because Christopher is clearly not as sure about the whole thing. They are, after all, just 10 years old. But with the kind of moves they displayed on a recent episode of “Britain’s Got Talent,” their dance cards will be full for years to come.

See how nervous he looks? That’s because when she’s asked what song they’re going to perform their ballroom dance routine to, Lexie says Meghan Trainor’s “Dear Future Husband” because “he’s my future husband.”

But David Walliams notes Christopher almost imperceptibly shaking his head: “How do you feel about that, Christopher?”
“Not very happy,” he replies, adding she’s “just annoying.”

“Well, I think things have got off to a great start,” David says with a delighted chuckle. “Let’s see if you can work out some of these tensions through the medium of dance. The stage is yours, guys, good luck!”
Their comedy routine was just a little warm-up for some serious ballroom moves, because annoying or not, Lexie’s all business throughout the routine. And Christopher’s perfectly synched to her every move as the pair whirl and twirl across the dance floor during the minute-long routine!

They swivel, shake and kick along like seasoned pros as Meghan sings out their fate (or, as Christopher likely sees it, doom), apparently agreeing to disagree for the moment for the sake of this audition:

“Christopher, are you now on board with the future husband thing?” David asks once they’ve wrapped up the performance.
“No,” he replies, prompting a roar of laughter from the audience.
Amanda Holden couldn’t help adding her own little bit to the comedy, saying: “To see your (Christopher’s) dry sense of humor and your (Lexie’s) sass, which actually does work in a marriage, Christopher, was fantastic.”

So is marriage written in the stars for these gifted dancers? Only time will tell, but in the meantime, we hope they at least continue on as dancing partners because they’re truly fantastic!
