The public library in Swanton, Ohio has a new, four-legged library assistant. Benny the kitten has endured a wild three months of life. After being tossed out of a moving truck, he was rescued by the Wood County Humane Society. Benny stayed there for a short time before being adopted by his furever human, Anna Burwell.

Anna works for the Swanton Public Library and began bringing Benny to work. He quickly turned into a regular.

Benny likes to zoom around the library and then find a cozy spot to cuddle up. Library-goers of all ages enjoy tracking Benny down for a few pets.
“The kids love him,” Anna shared. “People tend to react really well to animals.”
Benny’s often at story time, providing a little extra comfort to the children in attendance.
Anna aspires to get Benny certified as a therapy cat so he can spread the love in even more ways.
