You never know when or how you’ll meet your next best friend. For Rebekah Cowley’s child, Luna, it happened when visiting her grandparents. While there, they learned that a stray dog had been staying close by for a week. Still, when they tried to get close, she would back away.

This frightened pup quickly changed, however, when little Luna approached. Not only did she not run away, but she immediately ran up to greet her. Although the Cowley family had to leave this sweet girl behind, when they came back for Easter, Luna was insistent that they bring the dog home, a choice that Rebekah couldn’t be happier with.

After sharing this magical moment on TikTok, folks around the world became invested in Luna and Magic’s story. Thankfully, Rebekah has been happy to provide updates.
As soon as they could, they took Magic to the vet where she was confirmed to be around 6-months-old. They also confirmed that she did not have a chip. Between that and the fact that they couldn’t find anyone in search of a dog like Magic, it was finally safe to say that this sweet pup had found her forever home!
Ever since, Luna and Magic have been the closest of friends. Rebekah has shared some of their wholesome moments together, including one where she brought along Magic when it was time to pick Luna up from school. This adorable little girl had no idea she’d be there and couldn’t have been happier!

Considering how perfect this dog seems to be for the Cowley family, and the circumstances in which they met, Luna truly couldn’t have picked a better name for her. Their bond is so special and is sure to only grow as the two of them grow up alongside each other.
